I’m Cali and I couldn’t be more excited you’re here–I just know you’re gonna love it!!
Strong Side Kettlebell grew out of my passion for strength training, my own journey to learning biomechanics and quality movement, and my desire to help other women experience the joy that can be gained from moving well, feeling confident, stepping into your power, and truly owning the Strong Side you’ve had all along.
As we get to know each other, you’ll realize that my coaching and training philosophy isn’t the typical approach you find online or in local gyms. ANNNND…if we’re being honest, I’m not exactly normal either 🤪
My approach to fitness includes the following core principles:
✔ We practice strength as a skill. That means we ditch the perfectionist, all-or-nothing mindset, take a methodical approach to training, choosing movements that meet you at your current skill level and challenge you toward continued growth. This is how progress happens and you end up achieving things you never thought possible.
✔ We move with focus and intention–we don’t just workout to sweat and “feel the burn”-- by doing this, you make faster improvements in form, strength, and mobility. Plus, you get more connected to how your body is feeling on any given day and through every movement you perform. This awareness translates into everyday life and keeps your body feeling healthy.
✔ We aim to “stimulate” not "annihilate” with workouts that leave you feeling better than when you started. You’ll see the progress and look forward to your training sessions rather than feel a constant sense of exhaustion, dread and soreness.
✔ When life gets crazy we don’t give up, we adjust–because our health and our goals are still a priority. One of the biggest keys to progress is staying consistent. Through your training, you will learn what aspects of fitness are most important to keep seeing the results you want and how to incorporate those components even during your busiest weeks.
✔ WE. HAVE. FUN!!!! Fitness should 100% ENHANCE your life and be an enjoyable experience–not just another chore. When movement feels good, you’re confident with what you’re doing, aren’t afraid to try new things and you know how to adapt to your circumstances, you experience fitness in an entirely new and positive way. It doesn’t happen overnight but I promise it IS possible!!
No matter what your fitness level, these principles work for helping you create lasting change in the way you move, look, and feel without making training your full time job.
